Walnut Cream Drops
These pralines from Mom are really good.
1-1/2 cups sugar
1 cup milk
2 Tbsp. light corn syrup
pinch salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Mix in a saucepan all ingredients except vanilla and walnuts. Cook very slowly, without stirring, over low heat to 236 degrees or until soft ball stage. Remove from heat and cool at room temperature without stirring until lukewarm (145 degrees). Add vanilla and walnuts. beat until candy holds its shape, then drop from tsp. onto waxed paper. Makes about 20 patties.
