Strawberry Shortcake
A seasonal favorite when berries are plentiful. From Mom's kitchen.
2-1/3 cups Bisquick baking mix
3 Tbsp. margarine or butter, melted
1/2 cup milk
3 Tbsp. sugar
1 qt. strawberries, cut in half and sweetened
sweetened whipped cream
Mix all ingredients except strawberries and whipped cream until soft dough forms. Spread in ungreased square pan, 8x8x2", or round pan, 8x1 1/2". Bake at 425 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 10 minutes; cut into serving pieces. Split each piece horizontally. Fill and top each serving with strawberries. Top with whipped cream. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
