Sour Cream Fettuccini Alfredo

1  lb. fettuccini
1  cup sour cream
1  cup whipping cream
2  Tbsp. butter or margarine
grated parmesan cheese
salt
freshly ground black pepper


Cook fettuccini until tender and drain. Meanwhile, combine sour cream, whipping cream, and butter in saucepan. Heat but do not boil. Add parmesan cheese and season to taste with salt and pepper. Pour sauce over hot fettuccini and toss. Sprinkle with additional parmesan cheese and chopped parsley, if desired. Serve at once. Makes 8 cups.
