Meringue Cookies
These light and airy cookies from Michelle's friend Marcia Strand, are worth the five hours it takes to bake them.
2 egg whites
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. cream of tarter
1 cup chocolate chips
3/4 cup sugar
2 cups corn flakes
Beat egg whites until stiff. Add cream of tarter and beat. Gradually add sugar. Beat in vanilla. Fold in chocolate chips and corn flakes. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet. Put in a 375 degree preheated oven. Turn the oven off. Keep cookies in oven for 5 hours. They are ready to eat when hard. Makes 2 dozen.
