Lace Cookies
These cookies disappear fast when Mom makes them.
1/4 cup ground blanched almonds
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter
1 Tbsp. flour
1 Tbsp. milk
Combine almonds, sugar, butter, flour and milk in small saucepan. Heat, stirring constantly, just until butter is melted and mixture is smooth. Drop by tsp. 4-inches apart onto buttered and floured cookie sheet. Work with only 4 or 5 at a time. Bake at 375 degrees for 5 min. or until lacy and golden brown. Cool briefly on cookie sheet, then working quickly turn upside down with spatula and quickly roll around the handle of a wooden spoon. Cool then slide off handle onto wire rack. If too brittle to work with, warm in oven a few minutes.
