Gourmet Turkey Stuffing

This is Dad's ever popular stuffing. Without it , our holiday meals just wouldn't be the same!


1/2 lb.  sausage, partially cooked
1-1/2  cups chopped celery
6  cups cubed french bread
1  tsp. poultry seasoning
1  tsp. parsley
1/2  cup chicken broth or bouillon
1/2  Tbsp. lemon juice
2  Tbsp. sherry wine
1  egg, well beaten

 Optional:
water chestnuts
chopped apples


Mix bread with poultry seasoning and parsley. Add partially cooked sausage, celery and any optional ingredients. Add broth, wine, lemon juice and egg. Mix well but do not mash bread. Stuffs about a 6 pound turkey.
